Welcome to Evesham Tennis
Welcome to Evesham Tennis, the tennis section of Evesham Rowing Club. The club is situated in the beautiful and award-winning Abbey Park, by the bank of the River Avon.
Membership and facilities
Evesham Rowing Club, which is owned by its members, has three acrylic courts (all floodlit) and three macadam courts (two floodlit). It currently has over 50 regular tennis-playing members, ladies, gentlemen and juniors of all levels of skill, ranging from beginners to county players. Membership is open to all who love the games of tennis and mini tennis. Membership also includes individual membership of the LTA. Special terms are available for families and juniors. Courts are available in 30-minute sessions and can be booked online by members up to two weeks ahead. There is a modest light fee to cover the running costs of lighting the courts. Access to the club is by means of a key fob (£10, refundable).
Teams
The Club usually has men's, ladies' and mixed teams competing in the Worcestershire County leagues. We also try to run a junior team most years.
Coaching
Coaching is available, by arrangement, from LTA-qualified coaches.
Social Tennis
Club Nights are held every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6.30pm. This is an excellent opportunity to meet other members, improve your tennis and have a drink afterwards in the recently-refurbished bar. All members welcome.
Competitions
The Club Championship is held annually, together with a numerous other competitions. The handicap competitions are paticularly popular.
Junior Tennis
There is a thriving junior section which caters for all standards from absolute beginners to county-standard players.
Social Activities
The Club's licensed bar is open to members every weekday evening from 7.30pm, and social events are held most weekends in the large upstairs function room, overlooking the river. There is a training gymn, with weight lifting and ergo equipment available for use by all members qualified to do so.
